PACE Engineers, Inc. announced ten promotions. Nick James was promoted to project designer II and Everett CAD lead. James has 16 years of experience and has been with PACE for 11 years. He works on commercial, municipal, and residential site development projects. He currently provides utility design for the WSDOT SR 167, I-5 to SR 509 – New Expressway design-build team.
Brian Way, PLA, ASLA, LEED® AP, is now a project manager at PACE. Way’s 25 years of landscape architecture experience includes LEED® certified and low-impact development projects. He has incorporated and designed green roofs, permeable pavements, bioretention, rain gardens, and stormwater planter systems. Way recently worked on the NAIOP’s Night of the Stars Award-nominated Terrace Station project. Additionally, his recent project with Housing Hope in Sultan, WA, broke ground at the beginning of 2022.
Jack Seeds, PLS, has been promoted to principal surveyor. Seeds has played a key role in the firm’s land surveying department for the last six years. With 28 years of experience, he manages various projects and mentors survey staff. Seeds provides valuable oversight and recommendations for schools, special purpose districts, cities, state and private PACE clients.
Jay Pullen was promoted to engineer II. Pullen joined PACE three years ago and is responsible for utility design and grading, report writing, and assisting project managers. He has been busy working on multiple Aegis Living projects, townhomes, and apartment projects.
Chris Anderson, PE, SE, has been promoted to senior principal engineer. Anderson joined PACE in 2014 and manages the firm’s Lake Oswego Office. He has 17 years of experience completing structural designs in the consulting engineering field. During his tenure at PACE, four other firms requested him to lead their in-house engineering teams from project design through construction. He spent 12 months leading a team of international engineers to design a large overseas industrial facility.
Matthew Lemley, EIT, is now an engineer II. Lemley joined PACE three years ago. Lemley served in the United States Navy and retired as a Lieutenant Commander after twenty years of service. While in the Navy, Lemley earned a chemistry degree and most of his engineering degree. Following his Navy career, Lemley finished his engineering degree and subsequently joined PACE. At PACE, Lemley is responsible for developing safe and code-compliant structural designs, with emphasis on constructability, economy, and responsiveness to client goals. Currently, he is working on the Portland International Airport redevelopment project.
Aaron Rapozo, PE, has been promoted to project engineer. Rapozo joined PACE in 2016 and has seven years of experience providing civil engineering for transportation, water, sewer, and storm drainage projects. Recently, he has specialized in small water system designs for agricultural clients. He is located in PACE’s Wenatchee office and works on projects for the Cities of Pasco, Cashmere, and Quincy.
John Forba, PE, is now a senior project manager at PACE. Forba is a civil engineer with 15 years of experience. He is a key member of PACE’s municipal department. He specializes in plan review and surface water design, including LID and Green Stormwater Infrastructure solutions. He currently leads projects for the Cities of SeaTac, Brier, Kenmore, Mukilteo, and Tukwila.
Kayla Yepez has been promoted to marketing coordinator. Yepez joined PACE at the beginning of 2021. She graduated from the University of Washington in 2020 with a degree in Business Administration with a marketing concentration. Yepez’s everyday tasks include developing proposals, coordinating events, creating advertisements, executing public relations, and strategizing and managing PACE’s social media.
Kristen Mohr is now a CAD technician II. Mohr joined PACE in 2020. One of her most notable projects is the Portland International Airport Terminal Core Redevelopment, where she models structural and seismic mechanical supports, verifies geometry, and coordinates with other disciplines. Mohr was recently named a Daily Journal of Commerce Oregon Women of Vision Honorees.
