Bayonne Mayor James Davis has issued a proclamation declaring Saturday, November 26, to be Small Business Saturday in the City of Bayonne.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our community,” Davis said. “They provide goods, services, and jobs to thousands of our residents.”
The reminder to shop local comes as the holiday shopping season begins. Small Business Saturday takes place after Black Friday shopping on November 25 in the wake of Thanksgiving.
“Please remember to patronize Bayonne’s stores, restaurants, and other small businesses during and after the holiday season,” Davis said.
Davis, City Council Members, and Jackie Farber, Coordinator of Bayonne’s Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ), traveled around the community this month to present the proclamation for Small Business Saturday to an assortment of businesses in each of Bayonne’s three wards. The businesses included: The Little Boho Bookshop; VJC’s Boutique; Different Strokes for Little Folks; Aaron’s Gold; Off 34th; and Childish Glow.
Davis concluded, “Bayonne has a great variety of small businesses. Many of them suffered significant losses during the height of the COVID pandemic. They would all appreciate your support on Small Business Saturday, November 26, as they continue to recover during these challenging times. Thanks for buying locally in 2022.”
