“Each of our institutional collaborators enables us to provide SCORE with more resources to increase its reach and positive impact on current and aspiring small business owners,” said Liz Sara, president of the SCORE Foundation.

The SCORE Foundation, the philanthropic arm of SCORE, the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, today announced that LPL Financial Foundation, Meta and Zen-Business will underwrite a variety of small business educational resources that aim to increase the business acumen and skills of founders launching and operating their own company. Their combined financial support will go towards producing national and local programs, business formation content for startups and tailored resources specifically for military veteran entrepreneurs.
Support by LPL Financial Foundation will help to build the financial competence of small business owners with financial training workshops in Charlotte, N.C. and San Diego, CA in addition to a national, educational webinar. Improving the financial literacy of founders across all types of businesses and industries helps increase their opportunities for access to capital at each stage of their company.
“An important part of our mission is to provide financial training and resources to small business owners across the country to help them advance the economic well-being of their own businesses as well as their larger communities,” said Melissa Buchanan, senior vice president of Community Impact, LPL Financial Foundation. “Collaborating with SCORE represents a perfect alignment with what LPL-affiliated advisors have indicated is truly important to them: serving communities to help them build their financial wealth.”
Meta will sponsor the creation of content showcasing resources for veteran entrepreneurs as well as the outreach to military communities to introduce SCORE programs and mentoring. The SCORE Veteran Entrepreneur Hub provides access to unique educational content and information for veterans that are re-entering civilian life after their military career and exploring business ownership or ways to leverage digital tools and social media to grow their company.
And, Zen-Business, the all-in-one digital platform that makes it easy for everyone to start, run and grow their business in any of the 50 states, is sponsoring a chapter in the popular and highly-downloaded SCORE Startup Roadmap, a step-by-step, on-demand course available on score.org. The Startup Roadmap provides a series of chapters with concrete, actionable steps for a founder to take – from the company idea stage all the way through to commercial launch.
“Each of our institutional collaborators enables us to provide SCORE with more resources to increase its reach and positive impact on current and aspiring small business owners,” said Liz Sara, president of the SCORE Foundation. “In the last fiscal year, an impressive 61 percent of SCORE business clients said they experienced increased revenue as a result of participating in SCORE programs and mentoring. Through these and other partners, we are very confident that this success rate will not only continue but increase in the next year.”
