MIDDLETOWN — The Fred Astaire Dance Studios of Middletown, located at 19 Tuttle Place, will be hosting an all levels Latin-style dance class on Friday, Nov. 18 from 7 to 7:45 p.m.
The dance studio features multiple certified instructors and experts in different styles of dance, including Latin styles like Salsa Bachata and Merengue. The admission for the class is $10 per person. The class teaches the basics of different Latin dances and will repeat every Friday at the same location. No partner is required. HARTFORD — The Bushnell Performing Arts Center, 166 Capitol Avenue in Hartford, will host a 30-minute immersive digital installation featuring the work of Puerto Rican artist Pedro Bermudez.
The Hartford artist is an award-winning director, filmmaker and cofounder of Revisionist, a Hartford film and cinema music video production company.
The free event will take place on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 3 p.m. The video installation titled “Cuatro Bailes,” or “Four Dances,” will explore Bermudez’s connection to place and movement while celebrating the Puerto Rican community.

HARTFORD —The Teatro Society of the Educational Arts, Inc, or SEA, is putting on a puppet show in the Charter Oak Center titled “Juan Bobo Tales” or “Los cuentos de Juan Bobo” on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 2 p.m.
Juan Bobo is a famous character in Puerto Rican folklore that offers valuable life lessons like honesty, hard work and friendship for children. Teatro SEA is a Latino children’s theater in the United States, and has created productions, workshops and programs for children since 1985.
The organization, established in Puerto Rico by Dr. Manual A. Morán, now has locations in Puerto Rico, Florida and New York City. The event will take place at Charter Oak Center, 21 Charter Oak Ave. in Hartford. Tickets cost $5. The recommended age group for this event is second to sixth graders. The puppet show will be in both English and Spanish.
